50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement

THROUGH THE DOORS & OPEN DOORS TOWARDS
: Diversity of the World and Intercultural Connection (DWIC)

The MLC’s Critical Languages Center (CLC) will join in the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement this year. Our theme is “Beyond desegregation, now it is time to open doors towards diversity of the World and intercultural connection”.

We think we from various countries around the world are good representatives of diverse ethnicity and cultures. The CLC are planning to have (1) international musical performance, (2) ethnic costume parade, (3) cultural exhibition (4) lecture (5) movie night as well as annual (6) Exotic Food Tasting Trip (EFTT) event. We believe that it is an opportunity for UA students and community to prepare for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

The main events (musical performance, costume parade, cultural exhibition and EFTT) are on Nov 13th, Wednesday on the International Education Week.

Here are the detailed events’ schedules.
